Greenwich University has embarked on a major recruitment drive this week, advertising 16 posts across seven departments, writes Jessica Shepherd.
In an advertisement in this week's Times Higher , the university says it has "identified new directions in its growing academic portfolio".
Subjects expanding include speech and language therapy, public relations, drama and English.
David Wills, pro vice-chancellor (resources), said: "These new posts represent a serious attempt to bring new blood into the university, and we hope to be able to invest further in the future. Greenwich has improved its financial stability, and we are now in a strong position to take on academic staff, invest in capital equipment and improve our campuses with capital developments and refurbishments."
The posts advertised include senior lectureships in children's services, community sport, urban regeneration and design, music education and speech and language therapy. The university is also looking for lecturers in events management, criminology, public relations, transport and logistics, drama and English and computer security and audit.
Seven of the new posts are for senior lecturers and nine are for lecturers.
Salaries are likely to be between £24,352 and £37,521.
Professor Wills added: "This university has a focus on enterprise, graduate employability and quality teaching and learning for its students, and I hope that many able and talented people will join us as a result of this exercise."
