Follow my lead, turkey

八月 20, 2015

I was astounded to learn that the University of Michigan has been “terrorised” by a turkey (The week in higher education, 6 August). One wonders why the faculty didn’t come out performing the “turkey trot”, a provocative dance that, according to Andrew F. Smith in The Turkey: An American Story (2006), “originated in Montana in the 1900s” and became the “in” dance. The turkey would then have imprinted itself behind the faculty and followed them wherever they wished to go.
