四月 17, 2014

This is about a quarter of the percentage of black and minority ethnic doctoral candidates in the same subject area, which is 13 per cent.

Representation of black and minority ethnic scholars is higher in information technology and systems sciences, and computer software engineering, according to the data from the 2011-12 academic year. Black and minority ethnic academics comprise 12 per cent of all professors in this field, one-third of master’s students and a fifth of PhD students.

Meanwhile, the report, A Picture of the UK Scientific Workforce, which was published on 7 March, finds that in mathematics there are four times as many black and minority ethnic students taking their first degree as there are black and minority ethnic professors.
