According to the author, this text aims to provide the reader with the fundamentals associated with material and energy balances. But contrary to Oloman's statement, this book is aimed uncompromisingly at students from a chemical and process engineering background. It is very likely that anyone from any other background will find the text highly intimidating. Unless one has a high-level understanding of physics and chemistry, this book is definitely not for you.

Who is it for? Undergraduates and postgraduates from process and possibly chemical engineering disciplines.
