Inaugural THE Asia Universities Summit to be held in Hong Kong

Event will explore Asia's place in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings

Times Higher Education will hold its first Asia Universities Summit at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 19 to 21 June 2016.

The conference will bring together senior university, government and industry leaders to discuss how universities nurture creativity and innovation.

Thomas F. Rosenbaum, the president of California Institute of Technology (Caltech), which has been ranked number one in the THE World University Rankings for the past five years, will be one of several high profile university leaders speaking at the event.

Professor Rosenbaum will be joined by Chorh Chuan Tan, president of the National University of Singapore; Nancy Rothwell, president and vice-chancellor of the University of Manchester and Wolfgang Herrmann, president of the Technical University of Munich.

The summit will also include an exclusive first-look at the THE Asia University Rankings results and a masterclass with rankings editor Phil Baty.

More programme details and speakers are due to be announced shortly.

The event forms part of THE’s growing World Summit Series, which includes the THE Young Universities Summit, BRICS & Emerging Economies Summit and the flagship World Academic Summit.
