Founded in 1769 to educate Native Americans as well as new colonials, the "Big Green" is the smallest of the Ivy League academies. Its 269-acre verdant New Hampshire campus accommodates just 6,000 students and a faculty of around 1,000. It has more than 40 departments and programmes in the arts and sciences, plus medical, engineering and business schools.
