The following professorial lectures have been arranged: May 13 at 6pm in the Harkness Hall, Douglas Dunn of the University of St Andrews, "Reaching down for language: Contemporary fiction and poetry".

May 16 at 5pm in the Harkness Hall, John Pattison, chairman of the Spongiform Encephalopathy Advisory Committee, "Biology, Society and the Edible".
