Home to one of Norman Foster's earliest buildings, the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, in 2009 UEA was caught up in the "Climategate" controversy, but is also involved in conservation initiatives, such as its 2 million project to improve the River Wensum's water quality. Its 320-acre campus supports about 19,600 students, more than three-quarters of whom are undergraduates.
