A prestigious private research academy founded as Bosung College in 1905, KU's history spans Korea's turbulent 20th century and beyond. Gaining its current name in 1946, its city campus and satellites house 20 colleges and 22 graduate, professional and specialised schools, a faculty of around 3,000 scholars and a student body of more than 34,300.
