Web-based role play wins e-tutor award

The e-tutor of the year is Beverley Milton-Edwards of Queen's University, Belfast, who won the award for her novel use of the web in student role-play preparations on the Middle East politics module.

Martin Valcke, head of educational sciences at Ghent University, Belgium, presented the £1,000 prize and a trophy on behalf of The THES and the Learning and Teaching Support Network generic centre this week at the Association for Learning Technology's annual conference.

Runners-up were Margaret Bray and Jonathan Leape of the London School of Economics for their integration of web work on a traditional microeconomics foundation course, and Trisha Greenhalgh of University College London for the quality of a web-based MSc in primary healthcare for distance-learners.
