ENGINEERING AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES RESEARCH COUNCIL

The EPSRC has announced £250 million in funding to create 44 new doctoral training centres across the UK. They will bring researchers together to address current and future science and engineering challenges and train PhD students. Each will receive between £5 million and £8 million in financial support. The centres are expected to train more than 2,000 PhD students over five years. Seventeen of the new centres will conduct industrial training, equipping students with the business skills to turn ideas into products and services.
