Cardiff University - Panda genome collaboration

Researchers in the Cardiff School of Biosciences will work with international colleagues on a project to sequence the giant panda genome. The collaboration will help scientists to understand the animal's evolution and hopefully contribute to its conservation. The panda is often called a "living fossil" because its ancestors existed in China more than 8 million years ago.
