University of Plymouth - No compulsory redundancies

The University of Plymouth has said that no academics will face compulsory redundancy as part of its cost-cutting drive. The university is looking to shed 223 jobs - about 6.5 per cent of its workforce - to slash costs by £10 million. Forty-two lecturers and other academics have taken voluntary redundancy, and 44 other posts have been lost through natural wastage. The university has yet to say if non-academic staff will be forced out.
