University of Surrey
Faculty of Management & Law
Professor of Law and Head of the School of Law
Salary on the Professorial Scale plus an allowance for Head of School
We have a long association with the provision of Law as a subject area. The School of Law was established in 2007 within the Faculty of Management & Law, and has expanded greatly with the recruitment of three new Chairs and numerous early career researchers. The School has expanded its range of LLM degrees, which now include International Commercial Law, International Law, European Law, Environmental Health Law and Employment Law. A doctoral programme has been instituted and we have a strong and growing body of PhD students. Legal research was included with European Studies for the last Research Assessment Exercise and performed well.
The School seeks to appoint a Professor of Law to the School of Law, where they will also be the Head of School for an initial period of at least three years.
We welcome applications from established scholars with interests in any areas of Law. With a distinguished research profile and a strong commitment to teaching, you will possess the strategic vision, managerial and administrative competence, tenacity and flexibility necessary to lead the School through the next crucial stage in its development. We are particularly interested in candidates that can demonstrate experience and success with managing the student experience.
