Search Tips
You can search by keyword the entire Times Higher online archive which goes back to October 1994. Enter one or more search terms into the Keyword section of the Search Archive box at the top of the home page.
You can also narrow your search, for example just choosing articles from the current edition of the Times Higher. To do this click on the Advanced Search link and narrow down your search by date range.
You can also perform a separate, detailed search of specific book and textbook guide reviews. Select the Section option under Advanced Search and choose either Books or Textbooks.
By default search results are ordered by reverse chronological publication date order - ie, the most recent articles appear first. However you can change the way these results are displayed to Relevance order, just select ‘in relevance order’ from the Show Results box in Advanced Search. The maximum number of archive results returned on each search is limited to 100.
Using search terms effectively
The Times Higher archive search engine is not case sensitive, so it makes no difference if you enter your search terms in upper case, lower case or mixed case characters.
Under the Advanced Search section you can define how you want to keyword search the site. For example if you’re looking for the articles on Origin of Species you would select the Phrase option so that only articles where all three words occur in this sequence will be returned.
