A beautiful story that explains so wonderfully why we knit, and why the online knitting community has become an integral part of my life. Thank You for sharing.

Katrina I'm sure there's a group very nearby who would help you learn. Great article, thank you.

Beautifully written essay expressing the feelings of so many knitters who reap pleasure, comfort and community with others of the same ilk.

Great article. I teach knitting and am really interested in the part it plays in peoples' lives. It's not just the production of garments or objects, there's a lot of stress-busting, relaxation and positivity that comes with knitting even the most simplest of patterns.

What a wonderful story; I look forward to going on to your blog. It reminds me, as a knitter, of why so many of us enjoy this craft so much and why it is so important to us. I read this story after following a link in a forum (British Knitters) onwww.ravelry.com, by the way

a really beautiful article! I don't knit, but I do quilt and the feelings, sentiments, and connections found over the shared craft are the same. It's amazing how one thing can connect a quite disparate group of individuals and reveal to us how very much we have in common!
